A fierce defender of Ohioans’ Second Amendment rights, Dave worked to make Ohio a constitutional carry state, fought against cities’ unconstitutional gun control ordinances, and fought the Biden administration when it tried to aggressively enforce “red flag” gun-confiscation laws. Guided by his faith, his wife’s own adoption experience, and his belief in the sanctity of all life, Dave is a tireless advocate for the unborn. Dave successfully defended Ohio’s protections for babies diagnosed with Down syndrome and stopped taxpayer dollars from funding abortions.

When COVID-19 shutdowns and mandates devastated the economy and stripped Ohioans of their freedoms, Dave stood up for us in court, defending small business owners, religious schools, and personal choice. When the Biden administration overstepped and forced employers to vaccinate their staff, Dave’s team took Biden to the U.S. Supreme Court – and won.

Dave is dedicated to protecting parents’ rights and Ohio’s future generations. When the DeWine-Husted administration vetoed legislation that would protect girls’ sports and keep minors from undergoing dangerous and irreversible gender transition treatments, Dave had the backs of Ohio families. He encouraged the legislature to override the veto, and has been successfully defending the law in court against the ACLU ever since. He has also championed new laws that strengthen charter school accountability and protect school choice in Ohio.

Dave is on the frontlines fighting against failing federal immigration policies and defending our nation’s laws and borders. He sued to force Biden’s Department of Homeland Security to enforce the law and deport convicted felons. He also led a coalition of state attorneys general to push the Biden Justice Department to defend the federal immigration statute that prohibits illegal re-entry.

As Attorney General, Dave has fought to keep the federal government accountable to the U.S. Constitution and protect individual liberties. Dave’s office successfully argued against the Biden administration’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for businesses in front of the U.S. Supreme Court. When Sen. Chuck Schumer slipped a provision into the American Rescue Plan at the last second forbidding states from enacting tax cuts, Dave immediately sued – and won. Dave has also faced the Biden administration’s war on energy head on and won key victories at the U.S. Supreme Court.

As Auditor of State and Attorney General, Dave went after pharmacy benefit managers, the middlemen that manage prescription drug coverage between health insurance companies and pharmacies, for illegally driving up prices. Through his nationally recognized investigations and litigation, Dave is saving Ohioans money on their prescription medications and holding these middlemen accountable.
