State auditor Yost saves $1 million with new lease

Auditor Dave Yost got the rent knocked down at the auditor’s Downtown offices to save taxpayers about $1million over the next two years.

Under a new lease agreement, the auditor will pay $7 a square foot – down from $12 – for offices across from the Statehouse at 88 E. Broad St.

More than 250 employees currently work on six floors in the building. Under the new lease, they will occupy five floors.

Yost also announced that an additional $38,000 will be saved under new lease agreements in the auditor’s seven regional offices.
